180 kilometers from Maputo lies the village town of Bilene – the Resort overlooking the San Martino Lake. A lagoon some 15 km long and 4 Km wide, that lies along side the warm Indian Ocean, it's like a mini- Mediterranean in Africa.

The local language is Portuguese. The local currency is the Metica. Exchange rate is ± 3.200 Mts to R 1.00.

The climate in the Gaza province, range from 18° in June and 32° in December. Rainy season is October to April. 

Before departure

• The validity of your passport should be at least 6 months and you need a visa.
• Vehicle registration papers are required. If not registered in your name, obtain a letter of authorisation for  you to drive the vehicle and take it in to Mozambique.
• A valid driver’s license must be carried on your person.
• Mozambique is a Malaria area – see a doctor to advise you on prophylactics.
• No pets allowed at Praia do Sol.
• No firearms allowed in Mozambique.

At the border  (Open 6am - Close 10pm)

You will need Meticas. It is usually safe to change money on the South African side, with the local people.

There is a bank on the Mozambican side, where you will receive the official bank rate.
